The George Washington University Band consists of students dedicated to enriching the University community through music. Members have the opportunity to perform in a variety of ensembles including Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and our renowned pep band, the Colonial Brass.

Symphonic Band

Symphonic Band is the larger of our two concert groups. The band practices twice per week week and plays two concerts during the academic year. The group's repertoire ranges from simple marches, to movie soundtracks, to classical pieces.

Wind Ensemble

Wind Ensemble is an auditioned group of musicians that also practices twice per week. The group performs two concerts during the school year, and additionally plays at the University's commencement ceremony on the National Mall.

Colonial Brass

Colonial Brass is the University's pep band. "CBrass," as it's known, plays popular tunes ranging from Broadway to Beyonce to Queen to Lady Gaga.  The group performs at home games for both the men's and women's basketball teams, travels with the teams when they play in tournaments, and plays at other spirit-oriented events throughout the university.  We bleed buff and blue!
