2017-2018 Cabinet Applications and Structure Final.docx
The Student Association is GW’s student government. Consisting of the Executive Branch, the Senate, and the Student Court, the SA has four main responsibilities: advocate on behalf of student issues, allocate funds from the student activity fee to student organizations, advertise student programming, and assist students in need of assistance.

The SA Executive Branch is the SA President’s “team.” It consists of a Chief of Staff, a Deputy Chief of Staff, the Vice Presidents and Directors. This team is also referred to as the President’s “Cabinet.” These officers of the Student Association have specific areas of responsibility in soliciting feedback from and advocating on behalf of students, and are expected to represent the Student Association with maturity and compassion in order to positively improve students’ lives.

The SA President appoints these positions. Appointments to some positions require approval from committees of the SA Senate and 2/3 approval in the full Senate; other positions require only Senate notification. The SA President also appoints other positions, such as representatives to committees and special bodies, some of which require Senate approval as well.

Please feel free to direct any questions to satransition17@gmail.com. The application will be publicized during the week of April 10th over the Student Association’s social media. We hope you find something that fits your interests!
